The proposed Master Plan 2041 for Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna authorities has cleared a major milestone. The plans were recently reviewed by Uttar Pradesh’s industrial development minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, in Lucknow and have been approved by the respective boards of these regions. The next step is final approval from the government.
Nandi emphasized the transformative impact of these master plans, stating, “These regions are set to become some of the most developed in the country over the next 50 years, with seamless connectivity between them.”
Key Developments and Regional Growth
- Jewar Airport as a Growth Catalyst: Officials highlighted that the upcoming Jewar Airport will be a significant driver of growth in the region. The master plan envisions a mix of hotels, restaurants, and workspaces to support this development.
- Yamuna Authority’s Master Plan 2041: Shailendra Bhatia, OSD at Yamuna Authority, presented the Authority’s Master Plan 2041 proposal to the minister. This plan now includes a total of 226 villages covering an area of 769 square kilometres.
- Expansion of Airport and Aviation Hub: The airport and aviation hub area has been expanded to 6,286.73 hectares, with 98 sectors planned for development.
- New Land Use Categories: The plan introduces new land-use categories focused on hospitality and industrial purposes, further boosting regional infrastructure.
Village Development and Connectivity Focus
- Noida Development Plans: The Noida Master Plan targets the development of 30 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar and 60 in Bulandshahr. The land-use distribution is planned as follows:
- 40% industrial zones
- 18% green zones
- 18% residential zones
- GNIDA Connectivity Priorities: Officials from Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) emphasized that connectivity is a top priority, stating that efficient transportation is the backbone of urban progress and development.
In addition to these updates, development plans for Mathura have also been proposed by the UP Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.
